Tattoos are Becoming Socially Acceptable
People like tattoos more than ever before and the overall society has also accepted them as all other fashions. In recent times, the media has played a vital role in introducing tattoos to the public through stars and TV reality shows. Tattoos were more related to culture and certain professions, but they were not allowed in professional working environments – up until now.

Ink was thrown on the criminals in China to let people know who they are and to make the criminals ashamed of their doings. In the Philippines, tattoos had a good meaning, as the ink was used to show the political ranks in different tribes and people. Different tattoo types, which could be erased, were also popular back in the time. People from India and Egypt used removable Mehndi and Henna tattoos in the old days (Mehndi or Henna is a dye that is obtained from a plant for non-permanent tattoos).

Tattoo art originated in America in the first decade of 1900. When the ships’ crew came back to their homes after a voyage from oversea countries, they showed the art of inks on their bodies. Even after that, tattoos were thought to be related to soldiers and ships’ crews, as they used to ink their arms – tattooing was generally linked to America. Through time, according to Associate Professor of Marketing and International Business, David Paul, a tradition of the tribes was developed gradually into a form of art, not very much liked by the general population. Tattoo wearers were mostly bikers and criminals.

Back to fifty years ago, theory proposed by Paul would be right, but tattoos have become very popular among the people and America has embraced this art as something normal. People are now free to express themselves, honor someone, or just have some fun. Several business organizations and working environments with a formal dress code don’t allow their employees to show the tattoos through, while other companies, such as Bank of America, don’t have any strict rules about tattoos.

Tattoos are nowadays viewed as art and are getting more accepatble in business organizations and at various work places. You can see workers with tattoos from doctors’ office receptionist to television news anchors.
Whenever an individual wants to add a new body art or is getting a tattoo for the first time, choosing a suitable artist and shop for tattoo is an extremely important decision. Many artists in this field can create amazing tattoos and your job is to find one that will make your tattoo special.
